Anderson Matthew

Writer / Director

Anderson Matthew is a visual artist and filmmaker based in Los Angeles. His work centers on film experimentation and queer perspectives. His short, experimental and documentary projects have shown internationally, including work commissioned by the Staatsoper Stuttgart. He is the writer and director of the feature film Baja Come Down and creator of the essay anthology Deviant Proposals: An Anti-Binary Journal published by Candor Arts. 

His first solo exhibition Some Things Hidden / Some Things Undone took place in Los Angeles at Flower Head in 2021. Anderson is co-creator of Shadow Kitchen, a Los Angeles filmmaker collaborative, and is co-creator of the LA Cinema Calendar. He holds a BFA from Chapman University.

Caitlin Michael Riley

"Hannah"

Caitlin Michael Riley is a performing artist with experience acting, directing, producing, writing, and voice acting. She loves goofing around with friends and creating side projects, as well as working with seasoned directors on more dramatic and serious roles. Having spent time abroad studying theater and film in Italy and France, she speaks three languages. In addition to her degree in romance languages & cultures, she also minored in gender & sexuality - a topic very important to her. Self-identifying as queer, she is very often cast in LGBTQ roles. After working professionally in LA for three years, she's relocated back to Oregon. Most recently, Caitlin appeared in Netflix’s Trinkets, American Vandal, and the feature film High & Outside.

Michelle Ortiz

"Charlie"

Michelle Ortiz is an actress and comedian best known for her series regular role on the CW’s revival of MADtv. She also appears in Joseph Gordon-Levitt's Mr. Corman, Netflix's I Think You Should Leave with Tim Robinson, the Latinx dramedy Gentefied and Nickelodeon's Nicky, Ricky, Dicky, and Dawn. She worked with Anderson on his short film, Las Gitanas. Known for her brazen and bold humor, she studied at the prestigious Moscow Art Theatre School in Russia and trained as a classical opera singer in Germany. Michelle participated in the 2014 ABC and 2016 CBS Diversity Showcases. She’s currently in development to produce and star in her own television show.

Case Barden

Producer

Case Barden works as a freelance producer in North America. He has produced the feature films Winning Dad and Baja Come Down along with several other projects. He has worked on acclaimed films such as Sound Of Metal, Knives Out, and 20th Century Women. He is a drop out of the University Of Washington and regularly lies about having a masters degree. All his fees are negotiable.

Ava Benjamin Shorr

Cinematographer

Ava Benjamin Shorr is a Director of Photography based in Los Angeles. She was raised by a Mormon mother and a Jewish father in Portland, Oregon. Her early passion for cinematography was stoked by skateboarding videos and art-house cinema.

Technical prowess, photographic experimentation, and identity are all a fixture of her work. The feature documentary Disclosure (executive produced by Laverne Cox), premiered at Sundance 2020 and was released by Netflix. Equal, a four episode series for HBO Max featuring Samira Wiley, Jaime Clayton, Keiynan Lonsdale, and Cheyenne Jackson, was released in 2020 as well. 

Ava was included on a list of “Mind Blowing Women Cinematographers” by Emmy Rossum, awarded an ASC Vision Mentorship with Rachel Morrison, ASC (Black PantherMudbound), and has a documentary about her transgender identity that premiered on Nowness and is currently making its way through the festival circuit.

Eric Sheehan

Editor

Eric Sheehan has been telling stories with ones and zeros for half of his life. His experiments include numbering those ones and zeros in ways which make a viewer uncomfortable, comfortable, or self-aware. Eric is interested in intersectionality and propaganda.  

He's edited films with filmmakers including Emett Casey, Christopher Richmond and Anderson Matthew.

Casey Winkleman

Art Director

Casey Winkleman (she/they) graduated from the UCLA MLIS program in 2020 and is currently the Print Preservation Manager of California Revealed, a digitization and preservation initiative of the California State Library. From 2012-2015, Casey co-ran an arts and cultural magazine called VIA Publication, which documented the creative landscape of contemporary Los Angeles. From 2019-2021, she was an Archivist at the June L. Mazer Lesbian Archives and contributed to community-building projects and cross-generational collections development. They are passionate about creating relationships and archival access through intergenerational community-based archiving, and they are currently excited about experimental film photography, self-publishing, Ayurveda and yoga, and being in nature.

Michelle Beltrán

Casting (Tijuana)

Michelle Beltrán is a binacional (San Diego/Tijuana) producer and casting coordinator. Passionate about fiction stories on any media platform. Her work as a producer features the music video by Ramona performing Vete con él, the second season of the web series Katia Nabil, and other projects that include TV ads and short films. She has helped find actors for films like Welcome Back, Baja Come Down, and Mente Revolver. Coordinating extras in the Netflix series Tijuana, as well. 

The plot twist of her life was changing her Literature major degree for Film in her hometown Tijuana. 



Curtis Fritsch IV

Sound Designer

Curtis Fritsch is a one man post audio army based in Los Angeles.  He's constantly looking for interesting and innovative projects to use sound to help polish, elevate, and translate the filmmaker's vision into the best possible experience for the audience, while also proving he's not entirely a fraud. His work includes features  Baja Come Down, Dry, and The Last Inhabitant; documentaries Las Sandinistas, Sisters for Sale, and Sunset Strip; the webseries Broken, Three's A Crowd and Break Time; the short films Runners, Kill the Devil, and Trouble Man; and reality shows Deadliest Catch, Project Runway, and The Ultimate Fighter.

He's a graduate of the Conservatory of Recording Arts and Sciences. When he's not working on audio projects you'll find him looking for more audio projects to work on.
